| The ISFA board is committed to training and recognizing Illinois outstanding floral industry professionals and encouraging continuous education. ISFA offers many educational opportunities for members to continue to increase their knowledge in the floral industry. Hands-on and demonstration classes will be held throughout the state at Floral Wholesalers, Junior Colleges and Colleges with floral design departments and Florists. The state has been divided into five sections with classes held 4 times a year in January/February (Everyday Design), March/April (Wedding Design), August/September (Funeral Design) and October/November (Holiday/Party Design). You may attend any class within the state. Classes will be for the novice to the more seasoned designer. Anyone who would like to hone their skills. Hands-on classes will have a minimum of 20 participants. (Max. 30) You will make and take home at least one design. Classes will be $35 each student or more as class product warrants. Observers will be $20. No at the door admissions except observers-all must be pre-registered. Demo-classes will have a minimum of 25. A silent auction of designs will be held at close of class. Classes will be $20 per student. Pre-registering is also a must. Non-Members of ISFA will pay $10 more per class. Classes will be held on Tuesday or Wednesday nights (6:30-9:00). All chosen designs will be demonstrated step by step in front of class. The presentations will include principles and elements of design, techniques used, care and handling, pricing and packaging, new products and new trends. Registration will be taken by mail and must be received one week in advance.
